MEET OUR LAB MEMBERS
Dr. Halberstadt is the Principal Investigator in the Family Affect, Beliefs, and Behavior Lab at North Carolina State University. She received her A.B. at Colgate University and her Ph.D. at the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied under the tutelage of Judith Hall. At the graduate level, she currently teaches seminars in Psychology of Emotion. At the undergraduate level, she is also currently teaching Psychology of Emotion and Independent Study in Emotion.
DR. ASIYE PARLAK RAKAP
Dr. Parlak Rakap is a Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar from Turkey in the FABB Lab. She has a B.S. in Pre-school Education from Gazi University (Turkey). After completing her PhD in Early Childhood Education at Middle East Technical University (Turkey), she started working at Van Yuzuncu Yil University (Turkey). Currently, Dr. Parlak Rakap is interested in the perspectives of teachers and parents about the development of respect and gratitude in children within different cultural contexts.
ELIZABETH FLATT
A second year graduate student, Elizabeth graduated with a bachelors with honors in psychology from the College of William and Mary in May 2020. Her research interests include early and middle childhood emotion socialization and parental explicit and implicit socialization practices.
